ROY WRIGHT Obituary

WRIGHT, ROY - Roy was born March 17, 1941 in Durant, Oklahoma and passed away May 18, 2012 in Charleston, South Carolina following sudden arterial complications and a short battle with leukemia. He graduated from LCHS in 1959 and UT-Tennessee Tech University in 1964 with a BS in Education. He was a past member of the National Teacher's Association. He loved playing ball with friends in the neighborhoods, teammates at Highland Park School, the University of Tennessee and Tennessee Tech University. He never taught or coached, but retired from the automotive parts business after working 43 years. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Marguerite Wright; brother-in-law, Dan Smith; father-in-law, George Evans and a very special Siamese cat called "Baby". He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sue Evans Wright; sisters, Ethel Smith of Cleveland, TN, Lou Black (Jim) of Denmark, SC, Eula Martin (Jennings) of Blackville, SC, and Margaret Black (Elvin) of Cordova, SC; brother, Bob Wright (Susan) of Barnwell, SC; mother-in-law, Annie Evans of Lenoir City, TN; sister-in-law, Linda E. Williams (Dewey) of Lenoir City, TN; along with 14 nephews; 11 great nephews; 13 great nieces; and a host of friends everywhere. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Second Baptist Church, 406 West 3rd Avenue, Lenoir City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Second Baptist Church, 406 W. 3rd Avenue, Lenoir City, TN 37771; or a fund of your choice.
