John W. Moore, age 68, of Knoxville, a loving and devoted husband and father of 4 boys, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was a veteran of the US Army. He is preceded in death by his parents: Troy and Gracie Moore; brother, Wendell Moore; sister, Aileen Moore; brothers-in-law, Henry Earl and Merritt Burgin, and sister-in-law, June Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Moore; sons, Michael Moore, Barry Moore and his wife Leslie, Brian Moore and his wife Jamie, and John Brett Moore. John is also survived by his brothers, Don Moore and Virgil Moore; his sisters, Patsy Henry and husband David; Betty Sue Earl, Shirley Hattfield and husband Junior, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike in Knoxville with a funeral service to follow at 4 pm with Pastor Gerald Fender officiating. Family and friends will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at 2200 East John Sevier Hwy on Tuesday, September 19th at 11:30 am for a graveside service with full military honors.
