My wife and I visited the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library in Fremont during the Christmas holidays, and were struck by the charm and grace of the Hayes home and family.

Happy memories of that visit made seeing Bruce's obituary especially saddening.

Sincerest sympathy to the entire Routhieaux family. Had the pleasure of working with Bruce for only a brief time following the Dravo-Carmeuse merger, but impressions made by singular people like Bruce linger long after workplace associations end. He was an exceptionally fine fellow.

I always enjoyed working with Bruce. His intelligence, humor and warmth made it a pleasure to spend time with him, and his composure in tough situations was amazing. I even enjoyed our friendly Bears-Packers rivalry, although he usually got the better end of that. My deepest sympathy on your tragic and untimely loss.
