Sara Denton Obituary

Sara Elizabeth (Parker) Denton, 49
SCARBOROUGH -- Sara Elizabeth (Parker) Denton, 49, of Gray, passed away quietly with her family on July 21, 2014, after a long illness.
Sara graduated from Portland High School and Johnson & Wales University. She had an infectious smile and laugh. Sara loved jokes and found light in everyone she met, generous and giving to a fault. Sara enjoyed the arts and crafts of days gone by- rug hooking and braiding and reverse painting on glass.
Sara was the youngest daughter of Miles R. Parker of Greene and Sarah M. Fahey of Lewiston, both deceased. She is survived by her brother, Miles R. Parker III of Munich, Germany, her sister, Diane K. Parker of Gray, her brother, Daniel S. Parker of Palm Beach, Fla.; and her niece, Tammy Delano of Portland.
Special thanks to her life long friends, Lori Rich of Scarborough, Marianne Nemeo of Portland and Gretchen Bates of Pownell, who faithfully stood by her side.
She will be sadly missed by all those who loved her.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend committal services on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m., in Calvary Cemetery (Old Section) in South Portland. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at 11 a.m., in St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Gray, with a reception to follow. On-line condolences can be given to the family at www.jonesrichandhutchins.com.
