BARBARA ALDA BEVAN We are sad to announce the passing of Barbara Bevan (nee Sutherland) in the early morning of April 22, 2014 at Guelph General Hospital, halfway through her 82nd year. Devoted wife of Frank for 55 years, loving mother of Michael (Lynn), Kathleen (Janet), and Jennifer and adoring grandmother to Elizabeth, Lindsey, Jordyn, Jennifer and Kaitlyn. Barbara was unsurpassed in her ability to bring a smile to our family's faces with shortbread cookies, beef stew and rice and peas, a few feisty and spirited quips and an unrelenting need to nurture. Originally from Jamaica, Barbara came to Canada in the early 1950s and began to make a life for herself - a life that we are honoured to have been a part of. We will always love you Nana. Family and friends are invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph for visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 1 - 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the foundation of the Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
