CHARLES "PETE" PETERSON, 57, passed away in the loving care of his family Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009. He entered this world on Jan 2, 1952, an energetic and beloved son of Charles and Elane Peterson. Owner of Sierra Construction and lifelong Fort Wayne resident, "Pete" was loved and admired by all those who came in contact with him. "Pete", "Chuck", "Charles", was know by different names to family, friends and business acquaintances. Pete enjoyed life and despite many bouts with life threatening illnesses, he always looked to the future and enriched those around him. He enjoyed his family, golf, fishing, specialty cars and motorcycles. In 1973, he married his childhood sweetheart, Susan Summers. Together they raised three children, Sara of Bloomington, IN and Rachel and Adam, both of Fort Wayne; they all survive. Pete was proud of Susan, Sara, Rachel and Adam's many accomplishments. His face reflected that pride when his family was mentioned and in his family photos. He is also survived by his father, Charles of Rome City; a brother, John of Ozona, Fla.; and a sister, DeeAnn Pierson of Holland, MI. He was preceeded in death by his mother, Elaine. "He was always there when family needed him. We will miss him dearly." Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd. The Rev. J. Brown officiating. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
