Clarence Terrell Duncan

Clarence Terrell Duncan, age 90, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, La Joyce Heflin Thomas Duncan, a sister, Elizabeth Duncan, four daughters Cindy Duncan & Danny Villines, Bettye Ann Duncan Kisor, Rebecca Thomas Glass and husband Mike, Shannon Thomas McCuin and husband Tim, two sons Bobby Duncan, Chad Thomas and his wife Kim, Grandchildren Daniel Looney, Sarah Looney Hawn, Joseph Kisor, Nathaniel Kisor, Michael Glass, Sarah Glass, Matthew Glass, Brittney Wheeler, Kaitlyn Thomas, Bradley Thomas, Taylor McCuin, and Trevor McCuin and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Janet Duncan, his sisters, Martha Reynolds and Marceline Masters. He was born in Hampton, Arkansas to parents Clarence M. and Georgia A. Duncan on October 7, 1927. He graduated from the University of Arkansas and worked in education as a teacher and coach at Fayetteville High School and Siloam Springs Public Schools. He worked as an insurance adjuster with Farm Bureau for 35 years as well as served as a board member. Among the many list of things Clarence was involved in, he also served as a member of the city planning commission for the city of West Fork, was a West Fork Public Schools booster member and he was a farmer, raising Charolais cattle and was actively involved in the Ozark Cattlemen’s Association and served as a past president and board member and was an active member of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association. Clarence served in the U.S. Navy (and Seabee’s) during World War II and the Korean War and was awarded the Victory World War II medal. Clarence was a beloved husband, loving father, a great family man, who loved the church and of course anything farming. We would like to extend a special thank you to WRMC’s doctors and staff, Washington Regional Hospice, and Willard Walker Hospice Home’s doctors and staff, in-home caretaker Kevin Pettus and Central EMS. Visitation will be at Moore’s Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Farmington Church of Christ with a private burial Monday, April 30, 2018 at the National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
