Not sure what to say?

Dear McCarthy Family,
It is with great shock and sorrow that I came across the announcement of Dan's passing. There are some people one doesn't forget. For me one such person is Dan.

As you know, Lily Lake had a magic about it, especially in the 60's. Dan was always great fun and many memories were made. I still have his letters, correspondence made infinitely more interesting with his drawings all over them.

My greatest memory is of Dan and his Dad teaching me...

I had'nt been to the Lake much this summer.I always look forward to running into him every year as I have for the past 13 years. I grew up there so I know what Dan liked so much about the place. We spent many hours at the lounge, rafting, golfing and always partying. Anyone that has been around him knows that he was one of a kind. He will be missed by many. I wish I could have spent more days at the lake..... What a great man....

Karen -- I just heard about your loss. There are no words that can express this kind of sadness. Please accept my deep condolences.

With love,

Helene Block Fields

Dear Gail and the entire McCarthy family,

I just heard from my Mom about Dan's passing. The entire Carroll family sends you our heartfelt sympathy.

I will always remember the wonderful times spent with all of you on Walden Parkway. I pass your house each day on the train on my way home from work and no matter what kind of day I have had, the memories of the wonderful times I shared with your family brings a smile to my face.

My thoughts and prayers are...

Karen, We are deeply sorry for your loss as we know how much you care for your family.I look back as a kid with your Brothers, the Mullins and the Gillespie boys at the lake and those memories will never fade of your family kindness. Bill & MaryAnn

Dear Uncle Dan, Aunt Joanne and all my cousins,

I can't begin to tell you the sorrow I felt when Linda told me that Dan had passed. My heart dropped. I thought of the times of coming to the house in Beverly and the many great times spent together with all us cousins. I'll always remember Dan's warm smile and kind words. And in the saddest of times, please know that we will keep Dan and all of the family in our prayers and that we love you all.

Love,
Ed and...

To All The McCarthy Family,
I was deeply saddened by the news of Dan's death. I always felt welcomed by Dan at family gatherings. He was a part of " Hi, how are you? What's new?"
His joie de vivre infected the greeting and I enjoyed being a part of the gathering and sometimes just watching Dan gather people around him.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all and as some one said - he is a part of all that is around you, not gone in spirit. We are all richer for knowing him -...
