Darren Simmons was born on May 1, 1962, to June Carolyn and Johnny Simmons in West Memphis AR. He attended Wonder Jr. High School, and graduated from West Memphis High School in West Memphis, AR. He attended McKinney Job Corps in McKinney, Texas, where he met his wife Angelena Bluford. They were married on April 5, 1985. To this union was born one son, Jarren Xavier Simmons.


Darren was a faithful member of New Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church, until his sickness. He worked as an electrician helper at Pruitt Electric and Light Tech for Republic Bank. Later years worked as a Security Guard for several security companies.


His main love was his CB radios DJ, photography, and videography. Darren was a member of the 181 CB club and The North Forties. Along with being in the club, he would also video and DJ for them and other Social and Charity Clubs.


Darren will surely be missed. He leaves to mourn: his wife Angelena and son Jarren of Garland, Texas. His mother June Simmons of West Memphis, AR. One sister Vanessa Simmons of Memphis, TN. Uncles: Dwight Monday, Larry Monday, Willis Monday, Douglas Monday, all of West Memphis, AR. Kenneth Simmons (Pam), Eddie Simmons of Memphis, TN. Aunts: Angela Monday West Memphis, Ark. Jean Liggins (Elmer), Shirley Lurry of Memphis, TN., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
