Douglas was born on June 19, 1920 and passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. Douglas was a resident of Rhode Island at the time of passing. He graduated from Pawtucket High School and attended evening classes at Northeastern University of Rhode Island. Doug was a World War II veteran of the Air Force, serving as a crew chief with the 410th fighter squadron in Europe, and was awarded the Bronze Star. Calling hours will be at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI on Saturday, April 13 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. immediately followed with a service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either: Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 or Edgewood Sailing School, 3 Shaw Avenue, Cranston, RI 02905.
