Edward Davidson Obituary

Edward Davidson, Esq.
At 5:38 am, Dec 7th 2018, Edward Davidson Esq. of Easton CT passed peacefully into heaven beside the love of his life, Tonja Walker-Davidson. Ed and Tonja's marriage in 1997 moved her to Ohio where she and Ed were blessed with two daughters Isabella Grace and Abrianna Elaine. Tonja's love for Connecticut began in 1992, when she bought her first house in Ridgefield. Moving her family back in 2006, the girls attended Ridgefield Academy prior to their move to Easton in 2011. They then attended Helen Keller Middle School and Joel Barlow High School. Ed and Tonja loved Ridgefield and Easton and their friends there. They often spent winters in Palm Desert CA.
Ed Davidson was a force in Cleveland business and philanthropy for most of his life. A successful entrepreneur, best known for his work in the relocation business, Ed was CEO of Cooperative Resource Services, which at one time was the largest privately held relocation company in America.
For several years, Ed and Tonja lived in Cleveland while spending time in New York and Boca Raton, Florida. Edward and Tonja were very active in Project Love, Cleveland Centers for Families and Children, United Cerebral Palsy of New York, and several other community activities wherever they lived. Edward was instrumental in developing and promoting Cleveland Sports Stars Hall of Fame, as well as The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where he served on the Board of Directors and was the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year.
Edward courageously fought Pancreatic Cancer since 2015. Ed is survived by his 5 children, Isabella Grace (20) studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Abrianna Elaine (19) studying at Southern Methodist University, Samantha (31) of Los Angeles and a graduate of USC, Alec Davidson Esq. (20) of Climaco Law and a graduate of Michigan State University, and Evan (43) of Cleveland, Ohio.
Services will be held at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd in Fairfield CT, on Tuesday December 11th. Calling hours for friends and family are from 4 to 7pm with an interfaith service following, led by close family friend Rev. Doug Lebow from The High Desert Center for Spiritual Living in California. Services in Cleveland will be announced shortly, in coordination with our dear friend Stuart Musinski, his children, Alec and Samantha Davidson, and our Former Rabbi and friend Dan Roberts.
The MOST important thing about Ed was his love for his family and his dedication to helping others. He professed and taught his children the importance of the Jewish legacy, and to strive to heal the world.

My sincerest condolences to the Davison family. Ed was uniquely different, one of the brightest and sharpest minds I was fortunate enough to team up with as business partners back in 1982. I knew him in ways only few would ever be privileged enough to witness. We were feeding of each other, working side by side creating, inventing and reinventing, shaping ideas and business models which were so unique and often different enough to stun an industry. Against all the odds success came about from cradle to the status of an Inc 500, driven by this man of so many talents. RIP partner.

Ed was a unique visionary that had almost a superhuman ability to always find the better mousetrap. His relocation business model was so superior to that being offerered by the status quo relocation suppliers that it drove them crazywhich he loved! He simply was not only smarter than anyone else; but also exceedingly generous. He was a true friend that only made one demandloyalty which he properly valued as the crux of friendship. My life and that of my family has been richly blessed due to my 30 year friendship with Ed. May Ed's family always remember that Ed made this world a better place.
