Ed was Sandy's principal at Pope Elementary school. When Pope first opened and the very first staff meeting was held, Ed looked around the room and stated that some principals work for years to get such a wonderful group of teachers and he was so fortunate to have such an excellent group of teachers for the opening of the new school. Every teacher in the room felt such pride and wanted to perform at the highest level to prove Ed was correct. Our son was in Troop 174 and learned such valuable...

I´m so sorry to hear of Ed´s passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family Ed was my elementary principal at Stewart. He was father to my classmates/good friends/teammates. We were often teammates ourselves at those Sunday night basketball games at a local elementary, where he often out shot everyone in the gym. (After all, it was his "home court"!) He was always our, and everyone he knew, biggest support. Never without a smile and the time to talk with you. Most importantly, he...

I send my condolences to Ernie and all the family. I knew your Dad since my high school days. He was such an icon of the school district. I was always impressed on how he kept in great shape. He had a great life. May he RIP.

I will never forget when I was student teaching as a speech therapist in Puyallup School District at Wildwood Elementary, one of four schools in my caseload. Ed was the principal and he came into the room where I was working one day during a break. When I told him that my master teacher wasn't there, he replied, "I didn't come to see her, I came to see you." Then he sat down and we had a very friendly chat. He was the only principal who ever took the time to acknowledge me during my semester...

Mr. Zieger was my 6th grade teacher at Firgrove many years ago! I absolutely loved our 5th-6th grade combination at that little school! He was my all time favorite teacher during my school career and I think one of the many reasons I decided to become a teacher. I was surprised one Sunday afternoon a few years ago to receive a phone call from him! We had a wonderful conversation about Firgrove, our class, and catching up with each other´s lives! He was a wonderful teacher and mentor who was...
