Jeanine, I just saw the obituary on your dad. What a wonderful man he was. There was no doubt you grew up knowing you were loved and cared for because you have modeled that in caring for your own. My heart goes out to you and your family - no matter how long someone is sick, the hole it leaves in your life when they are gone feels bigger than an ocean. Our prayers are with you and yours.

Fred will be the FIRST attorney in heaven (you'll know those attorney jokes). A heart as big as gold, the best hand shake I ever had. A man I considered my second dad. I could write a book re our ten years of the law together. We did more pro bono than the BAR allows. He loved the little guy - a person who needed him. Dear Jean and Jeanine, please accept the deepest sympathy from the Jack and Lois Brinkley family for the loss of your beloved, Fred Gilbert, a strong man and one of my closest lifetime friends, both personally and professionally. We were in law school together under the GI bill, each of us having served in the USAF. To supplement our incomes, Fred made charcoal for UGA and I had a wife who worked in town! --My beloved Lois worked for Ag Extension there. We each had one child then and we lived...
