Not sure what to say?

I had the privilege of knowing Gretchen at Lake Erie College. Her riding skills and dedication to share her experience and love for horses. I learned to be kind and gentle while riding. I hold Gretchen in my heart. A dear lady!

I was made aware of Gretchen's passing just in the last few days, nearly a year after the fact. I missed her tenure at LEC just by a couple of years, but had the fortunate opportunity to take some lessons with her at the Hunt Club the summer after my freshman year at LEC. The following summer I worked at Mrs. Nash's farm where Gretchen trained, so I was lucky enough to observe her daily in her work. Her genuine enthusiasm, positive encouragement, and all encompassing good-will were an...

Gretchen Singleton was my Guidance Counselor at Lake Erie College 1977-1980. Her knowledge and a special teaching methods of riding were a true gift. She gave herself 100% to people she was teaching about horses, riding and stable management. She had a heart of gold. I will miss her spirit. I am so glad I new Gretchen.

I was saddened to read of Gretchen's passing in the Stephen's News. I first knew her at Camp Robin Hood where she shared her love of horses and riding with us. I send all my love to her wonderful mom, Sarah, whom I would love to talk to, Becky and Laura. The world is a better place for having had Gretchen touch so many lives.

I was at LEC from 1976-1978 and Gretchen is one of the people I remember the most. She was always smiling, always cheerful. A true joy. She will be truly missed.

My memories of Gretchen go back to the 60s when I was a camper and then a counselor at Camp Robin Hood. I was always so envious of Sarah for being her sister! I have thought of her often over the years and can still hear her voice and see her smiling face. My deepest condolences to her family and to all those who loved her.

I'm sorry to hear about Gretchen. I was one of her students at Lake Erie College and she helped me a grat deal. She was an a true mentor.

My condolences to the Singleton family. I was lucky to get Gretchen as my advisor and instructor at my stay at Lake Erie College,1975-1978. She and I became caring friends as soon as I walked through her door the very first time. Gretchen had a Passionate, God Given Gift with people and I would call her a True Horse Whisperer. I can still hear her voice and laughter to this very day. Her humor and wit was so contagious.
Gretchen loved everything she did and it spread like wild fire. I...

My sympathy to Gretchen's family and friends--I knew Gretchen at Morgantown High School and always hoped she'd show up at a reunion but it didn't happen--- we both ended up in Ohio.
