Mr. Jeff Virgil "J. V." Whitlock, Jr., age 76, of Toccoa, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Born March 26, 1942 in Madison County, GA, he was a son of the late Jeff Virgil Whitlock, Sr. and Mary Lou Wehunt Whitlock. Family members include his wife, Martha Helen Cota Whitlock; children, Deborah Whitlock, Jeff and Cheryl Whitlock, Brenda Whitlock, Eric Whitlock and Michelle Chastain, Sharon Whitlock, and Aaron Whitlock; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert and Bonnie Whitlock, Winston Whitlock, Joe and Jean Whitlock, Grady Whitlock and Lois Whitlock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lamatine Whitlock, James Edward Whitlock, Sr.; and a grandchild, Haley Nalley. Mr. Jarett James Whitlock age 18, of Toccoa, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Born January 23, 2000 in Toccoa, he was the son of Aaron Whitlock and Kathy Black; and step-father, Steve Black. Family members include his parents; siblings, Alyssa Kari Whitlock and Clint Pritchett, Chance Whitlock, Lorraine Whitlock, Stephanie and Heath Martin, and Phillip and Bethany McCroskey; grandparents, Martha Whitlock and the late J. V. Whitlock; aunts and uncles, Deborah Whitlock, Jeff and Cheryl Whitlock, Brenda Whitlock, Eric Whitlock and Michelle Chastain, Sharon Whitlock, Jamie Whitlock, Louise Clouse, Paula Clouse, Daniel Clouse, Dennis Clouse, and Jeremy Clouse; step-sister, Addie Black; step-brothers, Jesup Black and Gatlin Black; niece, Nalani Naiche; nephews, Trenton Threlkeld and Liam Martin; grandparents, Gerald Clouse, and Kendra Taylor. Funeral services for both J. V. and his grandson, Jarett will be held at three o'clock Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Whitlock's Home on Chubby Smith Road with the Rev. Joey Whitlock officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at the mortuary Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10 am until 12 noon and from 6pm – 8pm. Had the pleasure of dealing with J V so many times here at Mecklenburg Electric. He was always so nice and was a pleasure to talk to. We talked motorcycles when he came to pick up our scrape. My condolences to Mrs Matrha and the family. Will surely miss him.

Uncle JV meant the world to me, he was my hero. I never knew Jarett but I wish I did, I'm sure he was a good man. Your family became my family. I love you all and I am so sorry for your loss. We will keep you in our hearts and prayers.
