Jacob W. Mcdaniel

Jacob W. McDaniel, Jr., 83 of Westminster died Saturday Jan. 10, 2009 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born April 10, 1925 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Jacob W. McDaniel, Sr. and Frances Fraley McDaniel. He was the husband of Betty Jean Frye McDaniel his wife of 58 years. Before retiring he worked for A&P for 41 years and was District Manager for the Baltimore Region for 19 years. He also was a driver for Westminster Motors and Len Stoler. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Westminster, Hagerstown Masonic Lodge # 217, Western Maryland Shrine and Cumberland Scottish Rite. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and watching the Ravens and Baseball. Surviving besides his wife is daughters and sons-in-law; Rhonda and Dennis Stem of Westminster and Lisa and David Becker of Hanover, PA, son and daughter-in-law; Keith and Paula McDaniel of Westminster, sisters; Maxine Hough and Alma Miller both of Martinsburg, WV, Dallas Peters of Nanjoy, MD, 6 grandchildren; Patrick and Philip Stem, Paige and Leah Becker, Kaitlyn and Kyle McDaniel. He was predeceased by sisters; Margaret Sloat and Geraldine James. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 11 AM at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster with his pastor the Rev. Walt Peters officating. Interment in Meadow Branch Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM.
