Kenneth Henry "Pita" Hall, 60, of Cabin Road, husband of Lynn Everett Hall, passed away at home on Monday, December 15, 2014 when stage IV melanoma took out his "one brain cell," which had for so long proven to be, as Pita claimed "one tough S.O.B." His passing was peaceful, at least when his family would "stop worrying him to death" and let him watch golf. Pita was a graduate of the Greenwood High School class of 1972, and worked for many years in the auto parts business in Greenwood, where he accurately identified all manner of knocks, rattles and squeals in all kinds of vehicles. He was a "professional roadie" in the Greenwood music scene since the age of 13, and took great satisfaction in his aptitude at this task. He loved music publishing and writing songs, and was a talented lyricist, who especially enjoyed bizarre subject matter. He loved music and took great pride in his record collection, which he organized and catalogued to an impressive degree. He was an avid golfer, and got three holes-in-one (as well as many bogies, double bogies and triples). To those who knew him and loved him, Pita was always quick with a joke, some much-needed tough love, or detailed instructions on just about any task or process. But more than anything, those who love him will miss his big heart, and his true love and concern for those around him (but don't tell him we told you about it…he would deny it). He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Everett Hall, who patiently "put up with him" for 37 years (except the one time she accidentally hit him in the neck with a 9 iron); his daughter, Perrin Hall Brunson of Columbia, who made him go gray at 40; his son-in-law, Tyler; his two beautiful granddaughters, Maggie and Sylvia; and an unborn grandchild who will no doubt learn the art of "Granddiddy's Silly Dance" from their sisters. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia S. Hall, who made him take his medicine; his "crazy red-headed sister" Donna Westmoreland and bother-in-law and "golf buddy" Robert; his brother Tommy Hall (or Toby, as Pita liked to address him) and sister-in-law Debbie, all of Greenwood; his sister, Patricia Ann Hall of Laurens, who insisted he was not her favorite brother no matter how many dollars he used to bribe her; his nephew Christopher Westmoreland of Colorado Springs, CO, and his beautiful family that Pita enjoyed catching up with on Facebook; his nephew Brandon Westmoreland (Pita's music discovery buddy); his "tiny" niece Katelyn Hall; his nephew Russell (RT) Hall, also of Greenwood; and many wonderful and crazy family and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Henry S. Hall, who finally stopped reminding him about the "Volkswagen story" earlier this year, and an infant sister, Cindy Marie Hall. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel, with Andrew Corley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to the Williams Syndrome Association; 570 Kirts Blvd. Suite 223, Troy, MI 48084. The family is at the home. Messages may be sent to the family by visiting www.harleyfuneralhome.com.

Not sure what to say?

Lynn, Mrs.Pat, Donna, Tommy and the rest of the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out about Pita. As his obit said, he truly loved his music. I don't think I've ever known anyone who loved it more.
