Dear Violet:
I was so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I'm sending my love and prayers.

I feel so grateful to have known Larry. He was always so kind and engaging - very genuine and real.

I am also glad that I was able to see him during my recent visit. To be able to see, first-hand, the joy in his eyes when looking a Michelle and Renee was priceless for me. I'm so happy that M & R knew that their "Papa" loved them so dearly.

I am certain that your dear husband is enjoying the splendors of heaven as you read this. I hope that this knowledge is some comfort to you. I will pray for the healing of your heart, support and love of your family and the peace that transcends all understanding that comes from knowing the Lord.

With love,

Jeanne English Newman

Dear Violet and Huey cousins:

I will miss Larry very much. Losses in life, while inevitable, are always so difficult and it is tough to know how to express the loss in a way that does justice to the feeling. Needless to say I will miss Larry's joviality, his genuine interest in our lives and that unconditional love that comes with close family. Larry is a role model to which I aspire and I will never forget him.

sincerely, Mark

Aunt Violet and all of the Huey "Kids",

We know your hearts are tender so please take care of them and each other. Uncle Larry was a very special person, someone I was humbled to share the planet with! We have all had so much fun together and your Dad was invariably laughing and smiling during those crazy holidays we spent together as kids! I will always think of him and them ... and all of you very fondly.

Your hearts will take time to heal but the best parts of him are left behind in you. Take good care. Blessings to each of you.

Sending lots of love & big hugs.

Violet,
My heart hurts for you and your family. You and Larry were such a beautiful couple and we will miss him terribly.
I've truly enjoyed our weekly get togethers with you and Larry and the rest of the Wild Bunch these past few years.
Hopefully you will be back with the group soon, and Larry will always be there in spirit, as Jay is. If it wasn't for Jay I would never have met you all, so I am forever in his debt and still missing him. I know Larry will look him up and give him a big hug from us all.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Much Love,
Margie

Dear Violet and family/friends
I will be with you in spirit and prayer on Sat Dec 10th, but I am so disappointed that I will be out of KC on the 9-10th and cannot be with you in person. Larry was such a good friend and supporter since I met him and his wife in Marriage Encounter in the 1970s; he lived his faith to the fullest and was an inspiration to me to "go and do likewise" I picture his joy in heaven at hearing the words "Well done, good and faithful servant" May each of you know the Lord's closeness at this hard time of closing a long and storied chapter of family history.

Violet
As you know, Larry is the one that taught me it was okay to hug a guy hello or goodbye. Ron and I hugged each other last Friday a tribute to Larry and you know Rotten Ron does not hug.
I know in my heart that Larry was still a Mizzou fan even though he was under heavy pressure to root for KU.
As much as we respected Larry for the mature intelligent man that he was, Nancy and I always got a kick out of seeing him during his morning walks, pleading with us, “Don't tell Violet” as he downed a breakfast roll as he walked 50 miles an hour.
We will have you in our thoughts as you face the coming changes in your new life.
Please remember you will always be a part of the Wild Bunch and we are here to help and buy you a Cricket when the need arises.
