Not sure what to say?

Our Dearest Big Mike,
So many things in life we cannot understand, but what we do know for sure is what a wonderful soul you have Mike and what a great human being you were. Although your time with us in this life was short, you graced the Skyline College baseball team here in California with your presence, if but for only a season. And the impact of your days spent with us will live in our hearts and memories forever. These tributes to you here Mike - all resonate the same sentiments:...

Michael Durell, writing this to you now seems surreal and strange, but words are all we have left to let you know of our love for you. Each of us has been touched in special ways over the many years we have known you by your smile, your compassion and kindness, your beauty, talent, and amazing presence in this world. You would lean down and hug me and call me "mom" and I would call you "baby! You always referred to Michael as "Coach" even though it had been years since he was your baseball...

You were a godsend from the first time i met you.
Rest in peace.

You taught me a lot of great things, about life and all aspects of it. You taught me that even though I'm small, it's all about personality and heart, so really I'm not that small. You always had a gentle and yet powerful composure and way of being, and I always could count on you for being my rock. You will forever be my brother, my friend, my mentor, my family.

I'm really grateful for the last year in particular, but every memory with you is sacred. You were an angel in physical...

Michael, Ryan and I will miss you terribly. Thank you for touching the life of a little boy with autism and making a difference in our lives simply by knowing you for a short time.

While it was only for a short time, my family is honored and blessed to have shared a season with Big Mike. Born with the body of an exceptional athlete, the inner person of Michael was even more attractive and extraordinary. Smart, gifted with limitless talent and the movie star look of a ballplayer, Mike was always soft spoken and modest; he was the kind of guy you just liked to be around. Countless times my son and I discussed the role model qualities of Big Mike; and he was so...

Goffstown Legion Baseball

Mike McCarron my concession stand Buddy you grew on me so quickly like you were one of my own. You would pull down the hill in your Blue Toyota hours before game time and out of the car you would step this tall young man with a great big heart and smile. You would help me get the grill out and on occassion we would make dinner I would toss you a gatorade and then one to my son Kory, then out to the field you both would run. Tape up get dressed and when you took the field you were in your...

I was fortunate to be Micheal's coach for 3 years when he played for Goffstown legion baseball. I had never met him before that summer day when he showed up for try-outs. We talked through e-mails but never saw him until that summer day. I remember him tapping me on the arm and saying Coach Kiro I am Mike McCarron. As I turned and saw the perfect baseball player standing in front of me. We shook hands and thats what started a friendship that would last forever. Mike was a great player but...
