Not sure what to say?

I miss our chats and miss the time we worked on projects together. HPC has never been the same. A good person lost too soon. Sandra

I just recently found out about Paul's passing. Although I am retired now, I worked with Paul at the Department of City Development for a number of years and I truly enjoyed his stories about the historic buildings and houses. Paul was very proud of his book and his research. He was so proud of getting the City Hall bells to ring again. I always enjoyed chatting with him after work while we walked to our parking spots. He was a kind, giving and wonderful person. He will be truly missed....

Paul was one of the first people I met when I started working for the City, great guy! He will be missed.

Rip Paul, you will be missed.

Jeff B Plan examiner for the city of Milwaukee

I've known Paul for almost as long as I've lived in Milwaukee. When he first came to work for the city, we shared a work space where he worked on his books, and I came to appreciate his talent and unique skill set in historic preservation. He could articulate the approach, draw it, and he knew how to build it too! Over the years, he was a remarkable friend with a great sense of humor and irony. Truly one of a kind. The world is smaller without him.

I am so sorry to here about your son Kathy Hurst

Paul sounds like the man our world was lucky to have for a short time. His gifts will be long lasting, just like the love of his family. Sorry for your loss Anna. Maureen Joy

Nine years ago my husband and I purchased our Victorian in North Point South, often jokingly referred to as "Tiffany's Folly". Needing a break from our sanders, hammers and angry contractors - sound familiar? - I found myself in Paul's office. Ten minutes later armed with Paul's book, "As Good As New", my husband and I began a journey that was finally completed two years ago. After all the blood, sweat and tears (many tears) our home was honored with the Cream of the Cream City Award. ...

I met Paul on few occasions through my work as a builder and always appreciated is insight and demeanor. I'm saddened by his passing. Warmest regards to his family and friends.
