Not sure what to say?

Our deepest condolences to the O'Brien family in this time of sorrow...Paul O'Brien ("Mr. O'Brien" to me and all the other Franklyn Street kids)...will be sorely missed. We had the pleasure of chatting with him recently and I will alway's relish the conversation. The Rochester Smiths..Tom,Nancy,Alec,Emily,Abby and Trevor.

My heart goes out to the family of a good soldier, father and husband.
OB led by example, in the Army and in his community.
He enlisted me in the Army and he convinced me to make it a second career. Because of his example, my goal was always to be First Sergeant, and because of his leadership and encouragement, I was able to realized the dream.
I always enjoyed getting together with him at Soldiers' Memorial Park for Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, and I will miss that...

I would like to extend my sympathy to the family and to Don, Mr. O'Brien's son. I am a co-worker with Don at the Division of Parole. It is with great sorrow to hear of the passing of your father and I would like you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

To the O'Brien Family:
"Obie" was the first person I talked to about joining the National Guard in 1965. After joining, I served with Sgt. O'Brien for seven years in Rome. He was always a stabilizing force during our Guard days and was a person I greatly respected and admired. And between Capt. Wojdyla and some other NCOs that wasn't always easy. My deepest sympathies to the family. "O'Bie" will be remembered.....
1LT. Richard J. Piper

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. First Sgt O'Brien was a key mentor to me during my time with the NYARNG and I will always remember him as a super soldier and an even better man. Have smooth sailing First Sergeant; you've earned it.
