Paul William Oglesby passed away at the Winter Gardens Hospital, FL on March 29, 2016 at the age of 72, losing his battle to lung cancer. Paul is survived by his ex-wife Patricia Mary Oglesby, age 65; children, Heather Elizabeth Oglesby, age 43 & Rebecca Anne Oglesby, age 41. He is preceded in death by his father William J. Oglesby and mother, Naomi Oglesby of Fort Pierce Florida. Paul was born on August 16, 1943 in Reading, Pennsylvania to William & Naomi Oglesby. He married Patricia Mary Burner in 1970. After moving to Gettysburg, PA, Paul began working for the National Park Service. The couple had two daughters, Heather and Rebecca Oglesby. His children remember him as loving the beach, annual trips to Florida to visit relatives and his love for the outdoors. Paul moved to Florida to be with his father in 1994, eventually residing in Winter Park, Florida for the remainder of his life. Paul was accomplished at accounting and worked in jobs where he could use his skills in mathematics. In his later years, he worked on the Anthony Casey trial supporting the attorneys in the case. Paul would visit Coco beach weekly before getting ill. He was a social and talkative individual who loved spontaneously meeting new people. In his last few years, he was an active and dedicated member of Northland, A Church Distributed at the Longwood location and served the Congregation on Sunday mornings greeting them with a warm smile. Paul is remembered by members of the Congregational Services team as a jovial and kind man who loved to talk about his family and the grace of God. A cremation will take place at Compassionate Cremations in Winter Springs, Florida. A Memorial Service is scheduled for May 22nd at 1:00pm. in The Hub at Northland, A Church Distributed. Pastor Jeff Bell will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paul's life.
