He was taught by his grandfather, Benigno Cantu, to play the accordion. He also played the trumpet, base, guitar, and drums. Vince had a music group called the Rockin' Dominoes, the Nu Dominoes and performed with a Tejano group The Saints & Sinners of Houston. He worked with Borden's Distributing for 9 years and retired from the Metro Transit Authority after working for 20 years as a Street Supervisor. May he rest in peace.

He is survived by his loving wife Evilla "Ivy" Cantu of Houston, Texas; brothers Ray and Fernando Cantu of Houston, Lorenzo and wife Sue of Clarksville, Tennessee, Louis and wife Juanita of San Angelo, Texas; children Mary Lou Robinson and husband Clifton, Monica Cantu, Vincent "Partner" Jr. and wife Vickie, Andy and wife Heather, Roland and wife Nora; stepdaughter Laura Sanchez; as well as 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Nora Cantu, and brother, Robert Cantu.
