William E. "Wally" Post Jr., age 61, of Portage, MI passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born July 2, 1947 in Sturgis, MI a son to the late William E. and Jannete (Haskins) Post. Wally was a Sturgis and Burr Oak area resident most of his life except for the past 15 years where he resided in Portage, MI. He had been employed as a professor at Western Michigan University where he taught Sociology and had also worked as a database specialist for Walwood on the WMU campus. He enjoyed spending time with his family, photography, computers, and was an avid reader of science fiction novels. Surviving are two daughters; Andrea (Matt) Bunker of Indian River, MI, and Jessica (Shawn) Bunker of Afton, MI. 9 grandchildren: Nick, Renae, Morgan, Noah, Shayne, Hope, Hannah, Muriah, and Braylin. 1 brother: Steve (Sally) Post of Sturgis, MI. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and daughter: Muriah Post in 1996. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Friday, at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes, Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091. Funeral services celebrating the life of William "Wally" Post will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church with The Rev. Deb Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the family or the American Lymphoma Society, envelopes are available at the funeral home. My grandpa will always be remembered and loved throughout our lifetime. I was young when he passed, but now that I'm older I'd like to write this. He will always be a huge inspiration, even if I only had limited years to be able to see him I will always member him and what he was like. He was the beat grandpa anyone could ask for. My mom always tells me I'm just like my grandpa (her dad) and that I look just like him. I know its a bit late to be writing this I figured better late than not at...
