Albina Bednar Obituary
Memorial Mass for Albina R. (nee Hren) Bednar, 92, of Sandusky, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at the church.)
Albina passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Kemper House in Olmsted Falls.
Born March 14, 1923, in Cleveland, she had been a Lake County resident for 40 years, living in Mentor before moving to Sandusky 35 years ago.
She was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor and an avid bowler.
She was the loving mother of Gail Bednar Bugos (Edward) of Mentor; mother-in-law of Diane Thomas Bednar of Kirtland; cherished grandmother of Jeffrey (Carolyn) Bednar, Deborah Bednar Nashmy (Drew), Michelle Bednar Griffin, Cindy Bednar Dugger, Jeffrey Bednar (Amy), Heather Bugos Shean (Mike), Holly Bugos Mesmer (Keith); and great-grandmother of seven.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Wayne S. Bednar and Jeffrey J. Bednar; devoted lifelong companion, Lawrence Neurohr; grandson-in-law, Joseph Griffin; parents, Joseph and Mary (nee Bizjak) Hren; four brothers; and four sisters.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
Contributions in her name are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve (Westlake), 29101 Health Campus Drive, Westlake, OH 44145.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
