Scott Rosenzweig Obituary

ROSENZWEIG - Scott, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, died February 3, 2012. He will be fiercely missed by the many people who loved him and whose life he affected with his friendship and generosity. His first and foremost love was his family. His memory will carry on in his family including his wife Janice, daughters Lindsey and Jackie, and son Jason. He was proud to recently become grandfather to Cait, and father-in-law to Ryan and Bryan. In addition, he is mourned by his mother Geraldine, brother Richard, and sister Robin. Scott was close to his many nieces and nephews. Mere words are not sufficient to describe someone who is larger than life. Scott was mentor and friend to many. He will be missed forever but will be known for his generosity and through the people who will carry on his legacy. A memorial will be held at Gutterman's Inc. in Rockville Center on February 7, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, his family are asking friends to mak a donation in his name to Holiday Magic Long Island (www.holidaymagicli.org) or Hope House Ministries Long Island. (www.hhm.org)

I'm sorry this is so late but I just heard the terrible news in the Bryant college news letter. I was Scott's roommate for 2 years in college. He was a great guy who would do anything for a friend. he was very friendly and knew everyone. He took me to his home in Baldwin where I met his brother who he always bragged about. after all these years I hate to hears this news but I'm sure Scott was a great husband and father... btw I also remember the first summer he worked putting in fences... I'm just happy to have known Scott

Thank you for this guest book which affords me belated condolences.
It seems like yesterday that I went to visit Joel in South Nassau. I loved Joel and I loved Scott. Most of all, I recall and cherish his warmth and sense of humor. We always joked and laughed when we meet. His passing was shocking and tragic news. My deepest sympathy to all of his loved ones.

Sincerely,

Bobby (Scharf) from Ben's

I recently heard of Scott's passing and wanted to wish his family well. Scott was one of my first friends at Baldwin HS when I transferred in my senior year. I have fond memories of that year and our college years when I visited him at Bryant. Through my brothers I have heard of his generosity over the years; doesn't surprise me. Truly one of the good guys. He will be missed.

Dear Janice and Family,
So very sorry to hear that my friend Scott has passed away. I came to know Scott at the Freeport store about 20 years ago when I moved to Merrick and was in need of his services. I came back to store many times over the years and no matter how busy Scott was he ALWAYS made time for me and was willing to help out with my current neighborhood project. It's not very often you meet someone so sincere as Scott and that's what makes this so hard to take. I will miss him greatly as well as and our lacrosse chats we would have whenever I came to see him. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. God Speed Scott!

Janice, just heard of Scott's passing. I am so sorry to hear that, he was a great guy. I have fond memories of him and always felt that he had it right - good family, wife and friends! His sense of humor was great and if I saw him once or twice in 10 years it was always as if it had only been yesterday. When we asked Scott to help with the Extreme Home Makeovers it was real simple.. "Yea no problem where and when".. no questions asked about what is in it for me... and I knew that he "got it"! My partners at Alure Home Improvement all send their sympathies to you and your family. He will be missed as a friend and a real Long Island success story! There was a whole lotta depth to this guy! I will miss him...

Dear janice, I am so sorry for your loss. Scott and I spoke recently about life and how one needed to value the days that they have with their family and friends. Scott knew that better then anybody I have ever met. He was kind, generous, courteous, and just a great person. It is rare you meet someone that you feel such a great connection with and Scott was just one of those guys. He will be missed.

I am so incredibly sad, but I thought that it was important to write. Scott I will miss you and thank you for helping to make my childhood and adolescence so wonderful. Playing ball in your yard, or going to the park or the beach. Sharing our Jr HS and HS days playing for Mike Cohen.. or just raiding your ref, which was always stocked. You were my best friend back then, and I will miss you and always love you for the friendship we shared.
