John Ellis Obituary

30, 1916 - June 30, 2005
John Claude Ellis, died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the age of 88after an extended battle with cancer.
He was born September 30, 1916 to the late John and Mami Ellis of Clayton.
Brothers' Norvelle Ellis, Laynell Ellis and Aubrey Ellis preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ossie Mae Ellis and his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Donna Ellis of Clayton; three granddaughters, and their husbands, Sandy and Randy Gurley of Newport, Joy and Bill Bagley of Clayton, Lori and Chris Phelps of Clayton; six great-grandchildren, Andrew and Lindsey Gurley, Adam and Matthew Bagley and Sydney and Lexi Phelps; two sisters, Joyce Marshburn, Christine Langford and one brother, Roger Ellis.
While flowers are accepted memorial contributions may also be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 411 N. Fayetteville Street, Clayton, NC 27520.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at McLaurin Funeral Home, with service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Dr. John Allen will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
