John Massey Obituary
September 4, 1930 - August 28, 2014
Clayton
John Massey, son of Elijah and Margarette Massey, went to sleep in the Lord August 28, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, two sisters, and many friends.
As a young man, John served in the Navy and fought in the Korean War. He raised Santa Gertrudis cattle for many years and taught industrial arts for Johnston County Schools for 30 years. John loved riding his Harley and flying his Remas airplane. He is beloved by his church family and was instrumental in the founding of Little Creek Seventh Day Adventist Fellowship of Johnston County.
John is resting at McLaurin's Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.

Sorry to hear of Mr. Massey's passing. I well remember him as a teacher at Smithfield High.

I met john at sss , my senior year. He was an inspiration to me then, and it has continued throughout my life. I think of him often...RIP old friend.....1969-70

John was a great friend to me and Glenn, and we will miss him so much. He felt like he would get back on that Harley and be able to ride again! He was a true man of Faith and loved to tell about his new church. He and Glenn went to tractor shows and could stand at one and point out all the details of it!

Mr. Massey was and inspiration to me and a lot of young men at Smithfield High when I was there in the 60's. He helped us become better men. You could not ask any more from a teacher. I have thought of you and thanked you many times.
