She had a 35 year career teaching elementary school in the New York City School districts. She primarily taught in Woodhaven, Queens and specialized in grades 3-4 and focused on reading and writing proficiency. She was loved by students, parents and administrators. Myrna's true love was her large family which included the children of her nieces and nephews. She combined her love of her grandchildren and learning by participating in inter-generational trips. Myrna was a "people person" and was blessed with many life long friends who survive her including Doris and Mike Flax, Jan and Charlie Honig, Joan and Jerry Kimmelman, Barbara Klein, Janet Kornhauser, Mary Lou and Leonard Kresch, and new relationships that were created in her retirement years in her community with the "funny ladies".
