David Kovacs

David A. Kovacs, age 89, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

He was born in Akron on December 15, 1927, to the late Steve and Mary (Bisarus) Kovacs. David worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber, and was a member of the Brick Layer's Union Local #7 in Akron. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Medina. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Medina Eagles.

David is survived by his children, Valdene (Dan) Barbuto, Peggy (Jim) Staubs, Theresa (Jim) Seger; grandchildren, Dan (Amy) Barbuto, Sara (Mitch) Jellison, Cole Staubs, Adam Seger, Shelby Seger; siblings, Martha Duboj, John Kovacs, Paul Kovacs, Ruth Lloyd; and furry companion, Boots. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Genevieve and his second wife, Celeste; siblings, Ester, Steve, Frank, Irene, Joe, Mary Hill, and his twin brother Daniel. David's family would like to thank the staff of Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls for their care and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at New Horizons Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd., Akron, OH 44305, Pastor Jim Bane will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to One of a Kind Pet Rescue, 1929 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
