With great sadness the Cherry Family mourns the passing of David L. Cherry of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, formerly of Rockland County, New York on December 11, 2016 at the age of 86 after battling a long illness. David was the patriarch of his loving family survived by his wife Merelann of 62 years and father of his devoted three daughters Cindi Heather (Sol), Lauren Beth (Bruce) Alison Sue (Stewart) and proud grandfather "Papa" to Dale Ian, Alix Brooke, Jordan Leigh and Michael Taylor. David was the only child born to his loving parents Irving and Amelia Cherry of Spring Valley, New York. He was the founder and CEO of U.S. Polychemical Corporation in Chestnut Ridge, New York, and he remained active in his company for the past 60 years. He was the longtime owner of New City Bowl in New City, New York. He was a graduate of Michigan State University and was the founding member of his own orchestra "The Serenaders" which paid his way through college. He was a veteran of the Korean War and member of Spring Valley Rotary, the Knights of Columbus, belonged to The Masonic Temple and was honored as a member for 60 years. David and Merelann have been residing in Frenchman's Creek in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida since 1989. Services will be held in the chapel of Cedar Park Beth El Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey (201-262-1100) on Thursday, December, 15, 2016 at 10:45AM.
