Vernon Lutterman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2015.
Vernon Joseph Lutterman is happily reunited with his beloved wife and son in heaven. He passed away peacefully today, Sept. 18, 2015, at Red Cedar Canyon Memory Care, Hudson, Wis.

Vernon was born June 28, 1924, the son of Ben and Anna (White) Lutterman, in Sibley, Iowa.

Vernon is survived by his children, Kathleen (Dale) Romo of Villa Rica, Ga.; Melanie (Ben) Lovingood of Jacksonville, Fla.; Mary (Arnold) Wilke of Woodbury; Anne Lutterman, Hudson, Wis.; Elizabeth Allred, Tucson, Ariz.; Bill (Debbie) Lutterman, Hudson, Wis.; and Lynn (John) Dewall, Lakeland; daughter-in-law, Cindy Lutterman, Dodge Center; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two sisters, AnnaMae Ambrose, Sherburn; Alice Sokoloski, Sherburn; and a brother, Benny Lutterman, Alpha.

Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann (Schott) Lutterman; his son, Joseph Lutterman; his parents; five brothers; and a sister.

On Sept. 29, 1948, Vernon married the love of his life, Charlotte. They lived on a farm in Dodge Center for 58 years. Vernon was proud to spend his life as a farmer. He loved the land. He loved to plant the crop and watch it grow, and enjoyed the thrill of the harvest. It was in his blood. If he was on his John Deere, he was a happy man. He worked at IBM as a security guard for 28 years, supplemental work at IBM for 10 years, and at Sam's Club for 10 years before retiring. He was a warm-hearted man, and he always had a smile for everyone. He was a storyteller, a deeply religious man who loved his family, and a hard worker. He played the saxophone, and he taught his family a love of music. He danced with his wife and children. He was a good man with a beautiful spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who have known him.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South St. SW in Dodge Center.

The funeral Mass for Vernon will be on Sept. 19 at St. John Baptist De La Salle Catholic Church in Dodge Center at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour preceding the Mass.

Blessed be his memory.
