PATRICIA WYCKOFF Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 8 to Aug. 9, 2014.
WYCKOFF PATRICIA M.
On August 6, 2014, Patricia M. Wyckoff (Maclyak) ended her long and extraordinarily courageous battle with breast cancer. Trish was an inspiration to her family, friends, and even those with whom she had only momentary contact by confronting the challenges of life with hope, humor, determination, and her bright and loving smile which she seemed to have even during the most trying of times. Trish loved many things with great passion. Music was her refuge and her amazing cooking was a gift she would happily share. More importantly, Trish loved family and children and cherished true friends, of which she had many. Her life continues through the lives and love of her own children, Jessica Burke and Jason Wyckoff; her son-in-law, Jordan Burke; and her husband, Steve. No words can adequately describe the bonds and influence that she had with them all. The family is in the process of planning a celebration of Trish's life in the spirit by which she lived and will notify family and friends as soon as final arrangements have been completed. In lieu of flowers, the family hopes that everyone who wishes will honor Trish's wish that donations be made to cancer research or charities that feed and care for children. She Loved, and Oh How She Always Will Be Loved! Arrangements by WOLFE MEMORIAL, INC., 412-731-5001.

I am very sorry for your loss. Trish was such a special person - an inspiration to so many. I will never forget her radiant smile, her remarkable strength and courage, and her kindness and generosity. She exuded grace and dignity and made the world a better place. I believe that there are many like me who will be forever inspired by Trish to never give up no matter how difficult the challenge. She was one in a million.

A very few people are placed on this earth to teach the rest of us how to live. Trish was one of those noble people. Her influence will ripple thru the generations. What a legacy.

To Steve, Jessie, and Jason
It has been our pleasure and privilege to be neighbors and friends of yours.  Trish was a joy to know and treasure.  Her genuine smile and ability to be pleasant and nice to anyone and everyone will be greatly missed.  Her leadership in setting up the annual Halloween treat table and bringing neighbors together will live on in our memory forever.  I know her warmth and ebullient spirit will live forever.  I hope you will treasure your memories.
