Arthur Peroni Obituary

Arthur J. Peroni Sr., 87, of Douglassville Arthur J. Peroni Sr., 87, of Douglassville, husband of Virginia (Brunst), passed away early Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Conshohocken on February 19, 1923, to the late Peter Peroni and Lena Rubando Peroni. He graduated from Pottstown High School in 1942. Arthur served aboard the USS Mertz in the Philippines during World War II and married Virginia Brunst in Pottstown in 1943. they remained happily married for 67 years. Arthur was an accomplished masonry contractor and founded AJ Peroni Masonry in 1955. Arthur was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Elks Club, American Legion, and the AMBUCS. Surviving are son, Arthur "Chip" Peroni Jr., husband of Bonnie Peroni, of Pottstown; daughter, Dorothy Schwoyer, wife of Jory Schwoyer, also of Pottstown; son, Michael Peroni, husband of Heidi Peroni of Curtis, WA; brother, Leo Peroni of MI; sister, Nora Reinhart; brother, Peter Peroni; predeceased sister, Mary Skrocki. He is also survived by grandchildren, Stacy Bogenschutz, Mickey Peroni, Gregory West, Drew Schwoyer, Mason Erickson, and Natalina Peroni, and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Aloysius RC Church, Beech and Hanover Sts., Pottstown. Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery. Calling hours will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 High St., Pottstown.
