Carl Manuel Obituary
Carl L. Manuel, a supply technician at West Point Military Academy, died February 2, 2008 at ORMC, Arden Hill Campus, Goshen. He was 60.
The son of Carl P. and Carmella Albano Manuel, he was born July 28, 1947 in Norwalk, CT.
He was an Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1992 from the Nabisco Brands Co. in Montgomery.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen Graham Manuel at home; one son, Mark A. Manuel and his wife Colleen of Wallkill; two daughters, Rachael Manuel-Welt and her husband Paul of Montgomery, Michele DiSilva and her husband Paul of Ballston Spa, NY; four grandchildren, Abigail, Nathan, Jared and Jakob.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.

To the family of Carl Manuel...I think I am related to your family and if so, I do remember visiting Carl and his parents when they lived in Norwalk where I grew up. If we are related it's through the DeLombrado family from Rowayton CT. I was born in 1946, October. Wondering?

Dad,
You were not only a father to me but also my best friend, mentor, advisor, consultant and so much more... I love you and miss you a great deal already. One of my deepest regrets is that you only had a short time with my boys. I want them to remember you, but I know that they will likely not as they are only 2 1/2 years old. I will certainly make them aware of who their Grandpa was and they will always carry with them my stories of you in life.
I hope that through what I have learned from you over the years I can grow to be half the man, father, friend, husband and son that you were.
My goal for the balance of my life will be to continue to make you proud of me everyday.

I'm so sorry to hear about Carl's passing. He had a mentor role in my own life and I loved and appreciated him very much. I'm thankful for him in my life.
