VIOLET ROSE Obituary

ROSE, VIOLET MAY WALLACE Violet May Wallace Rose, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and eternal disciple of the Lord, passed peacefully in her home Sunday, February 12, 2012. Violet was born March 30, 1920 to Beatrice and Harry Wallace. She is now rejoined with the love of her life, Robert C. Rose, who passed November 9, 1982. Violet and Robert met while he was a World War II U.S. Marine stationed in San Diego. Married December 18, 1945, they lived in his home state of North Carolina for 20 years, before returning to California. At age five, she gave her heart to the Lord and began her lifelong ministry to one and all. She obtained her degree from Fuller Seminary late in life and was ordained by the Assembly of God church. During her childhood, she was inspired by Aimee Semple McPherson's sermons at Angelus Temple, Los Angeles, attended Berean Bible Institute as a teenager, and through the years, spoke in churches and missions of many denominations. Violet is survived by her son, Robert W. Rose, with his wife, Tanja, and her daughter, Beverly M. Rose, with her husband, Sodero Arcia. She was the proudest of grandmothers of Aliah and Sarah Rose. She was blessed with a glorious loving extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins, who reside in North Carolina and some who have preceded her in death, and her cousins in San Diego. Services are Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, El Cajon, CA 92020, followed by final entombment at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary.

Violet was a longtime friend of my father David Lindley, and was by his side praying for him with Beverly when we thought he was going to pass. The prayers and support meant the world to our family. I met Violet many years back when she owned a restaurant in El Cajon. I always found her to be one of the sweetest ladies I've every known. She had a charm about her when she was younger till she grew older. Without a doubt, she is now with her husband and the Lord and is at piece.

Robert (Bobbie) and Bev,

Your mom was a wonderful, loving person and I also thought of her as a second mother after my mom passed in 2000. She always knew when something was troubling me and called to see how I was. I'll always love her for that. Joyce
