Michael Laverty Obituary

SHREVEPORT, LA - Michael David Laverty passed from this life into his heavenly home on July 4, 2011. Michael donated his organs and his body to science.
He is survived by a loving family - his parents, Letha and David Laverty, Jonesboro, AR; his son, Chris Laverty, and daughter-in-law, Amanda, Shreveport, LA; a brother, Doug Laverty, and his wife, Penni, McDonough, GA; two sisters, Melinda Ogletree, and her husband, Alfred, Jonesboro, AR; and Paula Stimson and her husband, Tom, Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephew - Jessie and Mary Katherine Laverty; Sara Westbrook, husband, Tommy and their son, Hudson; Alison Ogletree; Ryan DeBacker and Rachel Stimson. He leaves, too, his aunt, Alta Marie Fly, Tucson, AR.
Mike was a loving and caring son, brother, nephew and friend and was blessed with a multitude of friends, especially Tina Washburn, who cared for him in his final days.
There will be a celebration of Mike's life on July 30 at 3:00 P.M. at 2109 White Lane, Jonesboro, AR. All family and friends are invited to attend.
Hospice was a blessing for Mike, and memorials to them would be greatly appreciated; Southern Care Hospice, 2924 Knight Street, Suite 324, Shreveport, LA 71105.

I am so sorry to here of Mike's death. It's been many years ago, but I do remember Mike's warm smile, sweet spirit, and love for his family. The Laverty family will always have a very special place in my heart. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
