Patricia Zych Obituary

Patricia Ann Zych Apr. 22, 1942 - Jan. 28, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Patricia Ann "Patti" Zych, 72, residing in South Bend, passed away at 11:45 pm Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Hospice House of South Bend. She was born April 22, 1942 in Buffalo, NY to the late James and Olga (Yadlosky) Burns. On February 21, 1970 in St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Philadelphia, PA, Patti married Edward A. Zych, who survives. In 1975, Patti and Edward moved to South Bend from Philadelphia, and have remained here since. Patti was devoted to her family, and especially enjoyed attending her children's sporting events. She dedicated her spare time to making the community better, including serving as the first president of the St. Joseph County Right to Life and volunteering at Christ Child Society. In addition to her loving husband, Edward, Patti is survived by her daughter, Kerri (Terri Shoup) Zych of Indianapolis; sons, Edward C. (Jackie) Zych of Indianapolis, Jay (Christine) Zych of St. Louis, MO, Chris (Diana Espinosa) Zych of Guaynabo, PR and Rhett (Jessica) Zych of South Bend; grandchildren, Brendan, Hayden, Zo‰, Grayson, Christopher, Alejandro and Hank; and siblings, Gail Fisk-Burns of Buffalo, NY and Jimmy Burns of Tucson, AZ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, February 2, 2015 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday, February 1, 2015 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be donated to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or Christ Child Society, PO Box 1286, South Bend, IN 46624. Online condolences may be left for the Zych family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
