Joseph Comunale Obituary
Joseph "Joey" Comunale passed away on November 13, 2016. He was born in Stamford on March 9, 1990 to Patsy and Lisa Comunale.
Joey is survived by his loving parents Patsy and Lisa, his sister Alexa Comunale, grandfather Joseph Comunale, grandparents Antonio and Grace Pimpinella. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles; Portia and Eric Horsa, Sal Comunale, Joseph and Lisa Comunale, Rosa and Dominick DiPreta, Karen and Tony Uva; and cousins; Erica, Kyle, Lauren, Gianna, Nicholas, Amanda, Nick, Sabrina and Michael. He also leaves behind many friends and family who he touched in many ways. He is predeceased by his grandmother Marrietta Comunale.
Joey attended Westhill High School and was a member of the State Championship Baseball Team. He also played hockey which was his true passion. He attended Hofstra University where he received his degree in Legal Studies in Business and was a member of both the club hockey and club baseball teams at Hofstra. Joey was a member of the DSP Fraternity at Hofstra where he met several lifelong friends who bring us fond memories of his life to this day. Joey was very active in Stamford where he touched hundreds of individuals whether at the hockey rink, softball field or socializing with too many of his friends to mention.
The world was a better place because of him, his life was cut short too soon.
Family and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 1:00PM-9:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00AM at St. Leo's Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT. Entombment will follow at Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich, CT.

My heart aches for Joey's family and friends. I watched the episode which was on 48 hours, and this is by far the most heart wrenching I have ever watched. Never in my life have I felt so emotional. Joey looked like such a a beautiful person with a great sense of humor. For the individuals who took Joey's life, they are monsters! A loving human being wouldn't take the life of another human being and act in a manner as though nothing happened. My heartfelt prayers go out to Joey's family and friends. He is with them all in spirit and he will be missed and remembered FOREVER.

I just saw the story about Joey. I am so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful young man. I can see that he was a really great guy just by what his friends had to say about him. Also when you see the picture of Joey he just looks like he was so genuine and kind. Sometime when you just look at a person you can´t always tell what kind of person they are. But Joey´s face just exudes kindness and love which is so very rare. I am sure that Joey is happy in Heaven. I guess God needed another angel. And he sure got a great one. RIP Joey.

Although I may not have known Joey or his beloved family, I have been thinking about you all and I keep you in my prayers. I truly believe that Joey will continue to shine upon this earth even brighter now from up above.
Driving to work these past few days I have been stuck thinking about how Joey did not deserve this. However, it just goes to show how even with such a terrible tragedy, he is still prevailing all evil by proof of all the people who are truly missing such a great soul. That is victory right there.
