Dear Williamson family, Just recently, memories of my friendships formed from my early days in Arkansas, involving those with Gary, have come to the fore, This because I have brought them out of gray matter storage and relayed them to my grandsons, Derek and Nolan, in Greensboro, my Granddaughter, Emily, at St Mary's College, MD, and to new friends at our new home, The Village at Brookwood in Burlington, NC. Just a few of these lasting memories and experiences with Gary include: our roaming around Lake Hamilton in my outboard motorboat as self appointed dock inspectors ( one day even meeting and becoming friends with the later famous actress Sharon Stone when she was a 14 year old sitting on her grandfather's dock on Burchwood Bay; witnessing and being involved in funny incidents while performing as clarinetists as sophomores in Hot Springs High School Trojan parades and assemblies under Virgil Spurlin; some funny and some jolting incidents experienced together during our Dora Jane Ledgerwood led High School chorus trip to a National convention in Chicago, after we met with Mayor Daly in his office; and one of my last being together memories, when Gary was an established radiologist and citizen of Austin, of playing golf as his guest in a tournament on his favorite Austin golf course, when we won rifles designed for CIA agents (one to whom I later sold mine). In conclusion for now, I offer the indelible memory of Diane and and I and our legacies, Arden and Lauren, staying as guests in the home of Jackie and Gary and their three wonderful legacies. Thanks for this opportunity to relive fond and unforgettable "Gary Wayne" memories. Let's do it again sometime, Sincerely, John William "Bill" Rowland, (sometimes called "Wedge"' by Gary and friends in Hendrix college days, because that is one of the simplest tools in the history of mankind)

Dear Jackie and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Gary's death. It was great to see you both at our 50th college reunion. I didn't know Gary well, but I'll always remember his ready smile.
Blessings on your family as you recall all your happy memories.
Love,
Sharon and Ed

My memories and tales of my friend Gary, go back to our Hot Springs Junior and Senior High School days, college at Hendrix, and continued until about 15 years ago when I retired in Frederick. Just before that time, Jackie and Gary met with me for lunch during one of my trips to Austin. Why they were such dear friends came back quickly as soon as i heard them laugh. I consider Gary to be the oldest and closet in my circle of friends to have died, and it has touched me deeply. ironically, only two months ago I asked a friend in Hot Springs if we would see Gary at our up coming 60th HS reunion, but sadly it is not to be. I am sorry that I have gotten so busy and am so far away that I have not followed up when thinking of friends to let them know they are not forgotten.
Jackie and family, please accept my condolences.
