Alice Mayfield

Mayfield, Alice In the loving embrace of her family at first light on June 15, 2015, Alice Mayfield departed this world having lived a full and colorful life. Preceded in death by her parents Mary Jane and Dana von Schrader, brothers George and Dana, and husband Frank, she is survived by her brother Eric, sons Mac (Jana) and George (Molly), and grandchildren Kati, Tommy, Alice, and Dana. She was president of Mary Institute class of 1948 and worked for many years at Library Limited specializing in searches for out of print books. A lifelong learner she attended Mini Med School at Wash U and served there as a lay member of research review committees. She explored the world from Ozark streams to Antarctica. 'Al Pal' was simply the very best friend that you could ever have. A fan of track and field, NCAA basketball, and the Cardinals, she is now in extra innings. Services: Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm, June 25 at St, Peter's in Ladue. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Washington University Medical School or the St. Louis Zoo.
