LAKELAND - Rev. Russell Voight, age 82, of Auburndale, FL, passed into the presence of his Lord, 2-26-09 due to cancer.
He was born on 9-16-26 in Ellison Bay, WI to Harry and Edna Voight. Mr. Voight was a Baptist minister and missionary. He served in the U S Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann and sons David (Sherry) Voight of Enom Claw. WA, Steven (Shari) Voight, Grig Harbor, WA, Philip (Tamara) Voight, Tacoma, WA, two sisters: Helen (Grant) Hipp of Mpls, MN, Janet Martell, Auburndale, FL, five brothers: Conwell Voight of Folet, AL, Paul (Yvonne) Voight of Port St Lucie, Fl, Philip (Rose Mary)Voight of Auburndale, Fl, Wayne (Judi) Voight of Auburndale, Fl, Dale (Pat) Voight of Auburndale, Fl, 9 grand- children, 8 great-grand- children.
Rev Voight had a passion for teaching and preaching Gods Word. He had a servant's heart for God and men. He pastored churches in NC, WI, MI, MT, WA, Fl. He pastored Bethany Church Cebu, Philippines and taught at bible Colleges in Manila and Cebu. He served as Correction Chaplin in WA. He was a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A celebration of Russ' life will be held 3-8-09 at The Hamptons Clubhouse, 1094 Hwy 92 West, Auburndale, Fl. In Lieu of flowers you may send memorial gifts to Ann Voight 805 Petunis Way. Auburndale, Fl 33823 to be distributed to various missions.
Arrangements are being handled by Central Florida Casket Store & Funeral Chapel, 2090 East Edgewood drive, Lakeland, FL.

Aunt Ann,
I have been blessed by God to have had the time to get to know and learn from Uncle Russell. I will always cherish the both of you for the love and prayers you have spoken over me and my family.
