FREDERICK JOSEPH GAUTHIER Passed away at Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital, L Wing, on Thursday, June 27, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (Smith) and loving father of Gerald (Debbie), Fred (Gwen), Lynn (Ward) and Brian (Dineen). Grandfather to 8 and newly arrived great-grandson Jack. Son of the late Beatrice Hartigan and the late George Gauthier. Brother to Ina, and the late George, Kenny and Ronnie. Fred was born in "Griffintown", Montreal, Quebec. Decorated World War II Veteran serving in the Black Watch of Canada. Wounded in France and Holland, he used his hospital recuperation to hone his math and writing skills. After the war Fred joined the investment business, retiring from RBC Dominion Securities after 40+ years. Fred enjoyed his terms as Treasurer and President of the Toronto Black Watch Association and during his retirement, working in security for the Toronto Blue Jays. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 at the Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill (www.marshallfuneralhome.com) Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Immaculate Church, 10295 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, Thursday, July 4, at 11 a.m. A special thank you from the family to all the staff that cared for Fred at Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital, L Wing, 2nd floor.
