James Carter Obituary

Carter, James E. II COLONIE, N.Y. James Edward Carter II was suddenly called on March 21, 2010, by the angels who decided they needed his voice to join their "heavenly choir." James was born on July 30, 1985 in Queens, N.Y. and moved to Colonie in 1987. He graduated from Colonie High School in 2003 and attended the College of Saint Rose. Most recently, he was a candidate for a degree in human services at SUNY Empire State College with the intent to be a social worker. James was an amazingly talented young man; he excelled as a vocalist, an accomplished musician, actor and poet. He truly loved the theater and began acting while at Colonie High School. He performed at the Park Playhouse, Cohoes Music Hall, SLOC and was a part of many other local productions. He was also a member of Jazz Hands, an accapella group. Karaoke was a passion. Despite his valiant battle with diabetes and its many complications, he loved to live life to the fullest. James touched the lives of all who knew him and many will attest to the fact that he was the most fun-loving, kind, caring, creative, charming and quick-witted relative and friend one could ever want. His very unexpected death was a shock to all and he will never be forgotten. James is survived by his loving mother, Roberta (Bobbi) Carter; special cousins, Sandra Eggles-ton, Judge William (Joanne) Carter, Adam and Sarah Carter; godfather and cousin, "Uncle Billie," William Carter; aunt, Ruth Carter; cousins, Mark and Spencer Carter; sister, Loran Grady and daughters in S.C.; aunt, Laurel Burnell in Ala.; "Big Brother," Duncan (Nancy) Johnson and a host of other relatives. James was predeceased by his father, William Eugene Sconiers; his maternal grandparents, James and Alice Carter and his paternal grandmother, Annis Sconiers. One only needs to check his "Facebook" page to see the multitude of friends who have "hit" his site since Sunday. The family wished to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pacheco and the staff at Albany Medical Center Emergency Room for all of their tireless efforts. A celebration of his life will be held at Pinegrove United Methodist Church on Central Ave., in Colonie on Saturday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 1201 N. Beau-regard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 or to the James Carter Fund at SEFCU, 700 Patroon Creek Blvd., Albany, NY 12206 would be appreciated. To the Family,
I was thinking about James today for some reason and I decided to add a note. I do not know the family, but I went to high school and graduated with James in 2003. His birthday is the day after mine and we always went around putting up out "L" for Leos! We wouldn't have to say anything else just put the "L" up! He was so funny and extremely talented. he is now in the heavenly choir and God is most pleased. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

Bobbie and Family,
I was saddened by the death of James. I remember all the fun times we had at Saddlewood with James and Mrs. Francis. James had a loving spirit and a winning smile. He was always respectful to me and I think we had a special bond.

Ms. Carter I have not had the opportunity to met you, but I know James and he was a phenomenal person! I went to Colonie High School with him and we were "cousins" as I share the last name Carter with him. I loved James so much and her has inspired me through the times that we have shared. I send my deepest regards to you and your family. James will always be here looking over us. So when you feel as if the weight of the world is bearing down on yur shoulders, imagine that big beautiful smile of his.

Its kind of hard for me to get used to the fact that your gone. While you were alive your life was well lived. Its a shame that your life was cut so short at a young age. It really does upset me.
