I. Page Obituary
The Rev. I. Lee Page, 70, of 97 Clay St., Kane, died unexpectedly Friday morning, Aug. 8, 2008, at his home. Born July 8, 1938, in Conemaugh, he was the son of Fred L. and Mary E. St. Clair Page. On July 5, 1996, in Kane, he married Nancy (Crouse) Burke, who survives. He graduated from Waynesburg University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts degree; then graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1963 with a degree in religious education, and was then ordained by Redstone Presbytery. The Rev. Page served the First Presbyterian Church in Manor from 1963 to 1966, the Maplewood Presbyterian Church in Greensburg from 1966 to 1996, the Port Allegheny Presbyterian Church in 1998, then the First United Presbyterian Church in Sugar Grove from 1998 until the present. He was a member of the Redstone Presbytery and served as moderator of the Synod of the Trinity in 1980. He was active in the Lake Erie Presbytery and was the author of two books. In the community, he had acted in the Kane Players drama group, was chaplain of the Kane Fire Department, volunteered at Friends' Memorial Library in Kane, served as president of the Kane Chamber of Commerce, played bass for the Kane Guitar Choir, and was a former Rotarian. He is survived, in addition to his wife, Nancy Burke Page, by his first wife, Marjorie Blackburn Page, of Shippensburg; two daughters, Roberta Page, of Shippensburg, and Beth (Mark) Stover, of Tomball, Texas; two stepsons, Gregory Burke, of South Riding, Va., and Sean Burke, of Ashburn, Va.; and grandchildren, Adam and Kenneth Stover, Taylor Junkin, Connor, Bradley and Sara Burke. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a son, Douglas Page. Friends were received Sunday evening at the RONALD McDONALD II FUNERAL HOME INC., in Kane. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at The Presbyterian Church in Kane with the Rev. Lee Beckes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradford, the Rev. David Oyler, executive presbyter of Lake Erie Presbytery, the Rev. Dr. Robert Sheehan, retired Presbyterian minister, and the Rev. Brian Snyder, pastor of The Presbyterian Church in Kane, co-officiating.
