James Wallace Obituary

JAMES (WALLY) E. WALLACE

Mueller's Chapel of the Falls

James (Wally) E. Wallace rejoined family, old friends and the Lord God on September 19, 2008, at his home, surrounded by family.

James was born January 2, 1927 in Ancon, Panama, where his father was stationed in the Navy. His parents were Frieda and Jack Wallace. His mother died when he was an infant.

James served honorably in the Navy during WWII.

After moving to Kennewick in 1946, James met the love of his life, Margaret Doris Gussenhoven and they were married on November 27, 1947. James and Margaret settled down in Kennewick where they raised their four children. James was a proud member of Ironworkers Union Local #14 for 60 years, working on the dams and several jobs throughout the Northwest, and numerous projects on the Hanford site until he retired. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing cards, but his family was always No. 1.

James is preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister Virginia Dewolf. James leaves behind his loving wife Margaret, daughter Jacqueline (Ralph) Bender, son Stephen (Karin) Wallace, son Michael (Debra) Wallace, and Daughter Patricia (Doug) Olson. Grandchildren: Monica (Jared) Wallace, Stephanee (Mike) Hardesty, Jocelyn Wallace, Jamie (Don) Perry, David (Christy) Bender, Eric (Tammy) Bender, Jason (Jami) Bender, Michelle (Beau) Smith, Jeffery Oliver, and Zachary (Roxie) Smith. Great-grandchildren: Jessica Bender, Kirsten Bender, Josh Bender, Alex Bender, Tyler Wilz, Garrett Wilz, Francesca Wallace, Charlotte Wallace, Greyson Hardesty, Jaicee Perry, Emily Perry, and Presley Smith. Four great-great-grandchildren.

He also leaves behind many relatives and great friends who meant the world to him, including his Friday Poker Pals, who he always looked forward to spending the afternoon with. A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who helped during his congestive heart failure, especially our special new friend Linda Hans from Hospice.

Dad you are up in Heaven hanging iron with your old buddies and catching up with family and friends. We love you and will miss you always.
