I met Lyuda at the Shoreview Library where I work. She had this effervescent glow. She would walk from home to the Community Center in bitter cold weather. I'd offer her a ride. She would say, "This is nothing." I still can't believe this happened to a lovely talented woman. I will miss her.

Lyuda was our friend, neighbor, and a bright light in our lives. We loved seeing her smiling face and sharing stories about the neighborhood, the North Shore, and our lives. She was always so energetic, positive and genuinely caring about what was going on in our life. We can't express the sorrow we feel for her loss, but we know her kind spirit is in a peaceful, beautiful place equal only to the life that she shared with us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that loved her. Peace. Dave, Aly and Tugar Elias

Dear Lyuda, no words can describe our shock and sorrow.
We can not believe you have passed away.
Someday we'll see you again, until then, you will forever live in our hearts.
Dear Lyuda, We love you and miss you so much!

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear Lyuda's tragic passing. Lyuda was my twin daughters babysitter since they were babies. The girls love her and she adorned them. Lyuda was not rich, but she was the only working person I know that complained she got paid too much. She was more than a babysitter to us, she was family! Live life to the fullest, appreciate every little things it has to offer and stay positive when the time is rough, this is what I learned from Lyuda and this is what I will pass it on to my girls. Rest in peace, we love you!!! - Sophie, Genna, Katia & Lily.

Our hearts are broken. Lyuda was my neighbor. She taught my son to play piano. They adored each other. Lyuda loved nature. She enjoyed road trips and swimming in the lakes. She was always walking. Her love for life was genuine and contagious. We miss her so much.

To Lyuda's family and friends:
I'm grateful to have known Lyuda in the FUS Choir. She was warm and kind; and had a great sense of humor. Lyuda added her lovely alto voice to our songs. On the day she died she sang these words, “I was more loved than I dared to know. There were open arms I could not see.” May her spirit hold those words close.
Wishing you comfort and peace,
Patty Petersen

I will miss Lyuda. She was fun to talk to at the pool, where she worked in the summer. She liked to laugh. My prayers are with her family.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lyudmila. I met Lyudmila at the Shoreview Community Center and we spoke for a little bit since we both spoke Russian. She was a very energetic and optimistic person. I was shocked to learn of the tragic accident she was in. My husband also spoke Russian to her at the Fresh and Natural Store where she worked. Again, we are sorry for your loss. Marina & John Burton.

To all of Lyuda's family and friends--I miss her so much. She was my friend in the First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis Chorus. We sang in a special performance Sunday. Then a couple of hours later she was struck by a car. Now her chorus is singing at her memorial service on Saturday. It's too hard to believe. I grieve and I remember.

I always enjoyed seeing Lyuda's familiar face as I shopped at Fresh and Natural. I met her 9 yrs ago when I worked as a sampler. She definately loved to keep busy. I admire her adventrous side of travelling alone to camp and enjoy what nature had to offer. I will miss you, and it was a privelege to have known you. I know heaven will enjoy your wonderful presence and the music you are playing.

May you find comfort in the fact that Lyudmila passed away while out walking on one of the first beautiful spring days. Because I was on Lexington at Victoria when Lyudmila died, I returned to the location later in the afternoon--I was touched to see others there, too, who were bringing flowers. May you sense the support from those who didn't know Lyudmila personally, but who care and are thinking of you!

The First Unitarian Chorus is deeply saddened and stunned to learn of Lyuda's passing. Lyuda was a beloved member of the chorus and she will be sorely missed. Lyuda was a generous, kind, creative, loving human being and the world's brightness will surely dim with her passing.
