My condolences to the Muhammad family. He made Washington a better place by sharing his love of jazz with all of us on the radio or in person. His memory lives on. He will be missed. EC

Condolences to the Muhammad family....In hearing of all the fine reports of a man that I have never personnaly met....but somehow feel as though I have known him for years through the music that he played on his show. Like Mr. Muhammad, music was the way of my life also....I felt a connection. He will be truly missed! May Jehovah continue to bless and strenghten the Muhammad family throughout these times of grief.

I am so sad to hear about Brother Muhammad's passing. He was such a fan and colleague to us at Tower Records. I've learned alot about him, not just in Jazz but in life as well. You will always be remembered with love. Peace go with you brother, jazz griot, historian and friend to many.

A friend (an Arabian proverb)
is one to whom one may pour
out all the contents of one's heart,
chaff and grain together
knowing that the gentlest of hands
will take and sift it.
keep what is worth keeping
and with a breath of kindness
blow the rest away

Condolences to Mr. Muhammad's Family. I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Jamaal Muhammad, longtime, resident Jazz personality and jazz/music historian of WPFW Pacifica Radio station, 89.3 FM. His music selection, story recollections, and raspy-gravelly voice are legend. Before Tower Records in DC closed, I used to enjoy going into the store and just talking to him about jazz and jazz artists. I was always in there longer, as well as, always spent more than I intended to when he was there in the store. (Smile)
I will truly miss my friend.

Hey Buddy,
Can't talk with you during football season this year. I'm going to miss calling you and having that talk with our team. Nevertheless, we both know that you are not worrying about nothing. See you on the other side.
Your Football Partner,
Bert
