RAYMOND H. HORTON, SR.  
Departed this life suddenly and peacefully amongst family on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bessie Kent-Horton; nine children; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. On Sunday, October 14, 2012, family will receive friends (viewing only) from 3 to 5 p.m. at Horton's Funeral Home, 600 Kennedy St., NW, Washington. DC. Viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Israel Baptist Church, Washington, DC on Monday, October 15, 2012. Homegoing service will follow immediately. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. I remember Mr. Horton when he was my family's neighbor on Bryant Street, NE. I was a teenager but I remember how nice he was. Always with a smile and a kind word. May the many precious memories you have of your time with your loved one sustain you at this time and forever more.
