BEATRICE ZUCKERMAN "Bea"  
Beatrice Zuckerman, a longtime resident of Palm Beach County, FL, and Montgomery County, MD, passed away on April 15, 2015, a week shy of her 98th birthday. Beatrice, or Bea as most people called her, died quietly in a hospital in Maryland after fighting a brief illness and injuries she sustained in a fall at her apartment. Bea and her husband Morris, who passed away in 1993, opened and ran Arbor Landscapers and Garden Center in Wheaton, MD. While her husband did much of the landscaping, Bea ran the garden center. She loved making sand art for the terrariums, and she taught herself about indoor plants so that she could help anyone who came in. When she wasn't at the nursery, she could be found on the links at Indian Springs Country Club.After selling the nursery, Bea moved to Delray Beach so that she could continue her lifelong love of golf. She lived within walking distance of the first tee at Gleneagles and played until the physical stress of the game became too much for her to handle. Still, she found enjoyment in the clubhouse playing bridge with anyone who could match her ability and enthusiasm.Bea moved back to Maryland in 2014 to be closer to family members. She lived independently and fought off any suggestion that she needed assistance up to the end.Bea is survived by her sister Mildred (Mickey) Hamer of Rockville, MD, her daughter Rosalie Small of Delray Beach, FL, her grandsons Max Weintraub (Danielle) of Alexandria, VA, and Dan Weintraub of Fairfax, VA, her great-granddaughters Camille and Delaney Weintraub of Fairfax, VA. She also leaves her "granddog" Duffy, who she claimed was her favorite!Memorial contributions may be made to The Historic Synagogue at Sixth and I in Washington, DC.Graveside services will be held Sunday April 19, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at King David Memorial Gardens.Condolences may be made to the family at:www.sagelbloomfield.com
